Ducks & Donuts!

On Monday our "mom's & tot's" group met for a playdate. The 5 kiddos ate Krispy Kreme donuts and then we all headed to Aldridge Gardens to feed the ducks. Playing Around

This past weekend my sister and her family came to visit. We had lots of fun being together. They also brought their new puppy "Ozzie". I wish I had taken more pictures...but things were a little crazy! :) Yesterday I took Bailey over to Aldridge Gardens to see the ducks and walk around. She had a blast, but it was so HOT! I kept worrying about her stepping in all of the goose pooh! That night, Michael and his friend, Ben, went to play tennis. Melanie and I went along and brought Bailey and Jack. They had so much fun running around the tennis courts, chasing each other, and getting in their daddy's way! Jack and Bailey playinng peek-a-boo!

Summer Is Flyin' By!

The month of July has come and gone at warp speed! We have been staying pretty busy! The slideshow below is mainly of random Bailey pics :), girl's night out at Cocina Superior, a playdate in the park, JCRMA's Welcome Lunch, CMMA potluck at Ross Bridge's pool, and a picture of Bailey's first time going to church. (She's in a white dress.) I'd like to elaborate on everything, but that would take way too much time!

Bogey Grumley Braxton paying his respects to his big brother.

On Tuesday, July 14 we lost a beloved member of our family- Bogey Grumley. Bogey, aka Mr. Bogey, just turned 7 years old in June. He was a sweet black Toy Poodle that was given to my twin sister,Laura by her husband, Miller, as a wedding present 7 years ago this week. Mr. Bogey was also Tito's half brother- they had the same daddy. He was such a good dog that loved to give kisses, play, eat pacifiers, suck on his "binky", lay in laps, and most of all he loved playing with his little brother Braxton (their large Standard Poodle).

Mr. Bogey became very sick last week and his health deteriorated quickly. On Tuesday they had an appointment with a vet in St. Louis to see if they could treat him, but it was too late. We think Mr. Bogey had liver cancer. Fortunately, my sister and brother-in-law got to spend one last night with him and prep for a good-bye. He is now resting peacefully in the Grumley's yard and is up in Doggy Heaven. He was buried with Braxton's blanket, all of his toys, a soccer ball, Max's pacifier, and Laura's Mr. Towel.

I just pray for peace and know that time will heal this pain we are all feeling in our hearts. We will never forget Mr. Bogey and we will get to see him again one day in Heaven. Until then, he'll be busy sucking in binky's and playing with balls. RIP Mr. Bogey! Your Aunt Leah loves you and miss you!

Last night we played bunco! I was the biggest "loser" so I got my $5 back. The new "interns" have just started at UAB so everyone has been promoted. Michael is now a 3rd year resident! We had several new ladies join us last night and it was fun meeting them and getting to know them. We had lots of fun and LOTS of laughs!!!! It's always a good time when it's just us girls!

BUSTED! Bailey jerked the marshmellows out of the lazy susan and started chowing down! We can't find a lock that fits it, so now we have to put a gate in front of it...so hoosier!
Yummy! I did let her eat several...we all need our daily sugar fix! :)

Big News!

No, we're not pregnant! :) Michael matched for his Cardiology fellowship back at the University of KY! We are really excited....I guess...it was his first choice. I'm torn because I don't want to leave all of my wonderful friends I've made! However, our family life will be so much better at UK than it would've been if we stayed at UAB. He'll be on call every 12th night verses every 5th night. So, that's a huge plus and I know that everything works out for a reason. Too much thought and prayer and had gone into this decision. We will begin a new chapter in our life next June. Until then, I will cherish every moment we have here with our wonderful friends! (I can't really think about it too much because I tend to start getting a little tiery eyed!)

On a different note, Bailey had her one year check up last week...two weeks late. She weighed 18 lbs 1.5 oz.- she's in the 10th %ile. However, she's 29 1/2 inches long and is in the 70th %ile. The doctor said she's tall and skinny, but I have no clue where she got the "tall" from! We've been going to the pool almost every day and Bailey loves the water! She's also getting a pretty good tan. And yes, she's wearing TONS of sunscreen! :)

Bailey's First Birthday

Miss Bailey is officially 1! She had a wonderful time at her birthday party and LOVED digging into her cake...she is definitely my girl! We are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends who came to celebrate this special day with us. The day after her birthday Bailey and I rode home with my parents and spent almost a week and a half in Paducah. Bailey loved playing with all of her cousins and hanging out with Mimi and Granddaddy. However, we both missed Daddy and are so glad to be back home!
